Opening this in Claude or ChatGPT sends the prompt with its {{PLACEHOLDERS}} still in it. Replace them with your own details before you send, or copy the prompt and fill them in first.

Someone has referred me to a new contact. Here is what the referrer told me:

- Under 120 words.
- Name the referrer in the first sentence, and say specifically what they said the contact was dealing with. Do not write "they thought we should connect" and leave it there.
- One sentence on why that problem is one we work on. No capability list, no adjectives about ourselves.
- End with a single, small ask: a specific length of call, or a direct question they can answer in one line.
- No "I hope this finds you well", no "circling back", no "quick question" as the opener.

If the referral context is too thin to say anything specific, do not invent a detail. Instead, write the email asking the referrer a clarifying question first, and say that is what you have done.
