Qualify an inbound enquiry against your own criteria

Scores an enquiry against the criteria you define, tells you what is missing, and drafts the one question that would settle it.

When to use it

Use this on enquiries arriving faster than you can think about them. It judges against your criteria rather than a generic framework, and the useful part is usually what it tells you is still unknown.

Opening this in Claude or ChatGPT sends the prompt with its {{PLACEHOLDERS}} still in it. Replace them with your own details before you send, or copy the prompt and fill them in first.

Here is an inbound enquiry:

<enquiry>
{{ENQUIRY}}
</enquiry>

Our criteria for a good fit:
{{CRITERIA}}

Do three things.

1. GO THROUGH THE CRITERIA
For each one, say MET, NOT MET or UNKNOWN, and quote the part of the enquiry you are relying on. UNKNOWN is the expected answer for most of them on a first enquiry; do not upgrade it to MET on a hint.

2. THE ONE QUESTION
The single question whose answer would move the most criteria from UNKNOWN. Write it as you would send it.

3. WHAT THIS LOOKS LIKE
One line: worth a call, worth a reply, or not a fit. If you say not a fit, name the criterion it fails on.

Do not rank the enquiry out of ten. A score invites people to skip the reasoning above it.
